This Democratic primary is about who will best advance our values and deliver progress. I have a proven history of civic leadership. I’ve shown up for our community and done the work for decades. I earned my degree in accounting from DePaul University, and I bring a career built on fiscal responsibility, careful analysis, and collaboration.
My husband and I raised three children here, all graduates of the Glenbard school system. I’ve served as President of the League of Women Voters of Glen Ellyn, acted in leadership roles for Indivisible DuPage, and was elected four times to the Glenbard District 87 School Board, serving as Board President from 2022-25.
Voters have chosen me again and again because I listen, build consensus, and focus on getting results. I’m proud to have the endorsement of more than 16 local elected officials, including Congressman Sean Casten, State Senator Laura Ellman, and four County Board members.
As your State Rep., I’m fighting every day in Springfield and having countless conversations with community members at the doors. Every single day, I engage in meaningful dialogue, and collaborate wholeheartedly to create effective solutions. I would be honored to earn your support for a full term.
I stand for—and fight for— Democratic principles and values, I always have and I always will. The Democratic Party is the only party fighting for women’s reproductive healthcare and bodily autonomy which is paramount to me. The current alternative is creeping facism and looming dictatorship.
Accomplishments
Created and secured funding for a brand new restorative justice program at the DuPage County jail, centered around music and art therapy.
Secured federal funding to complete the most comprehensive study on the creative economy in DuPage County ever done.
As a member of the Environmental Committee, initiated, advocated for funding, and helped set up guiding principles for Sustain DuPage to assist DuPage County businesses, the economic development community and municipalities in advancing their sustainability efforts.
Priorities When Elected
Our main priority has to be centered around the issue of affordability. People can’t afford basic necessities right now with the drastic decimations of social services at the federal level.
Food insecurity needs to be addressed immediately due to the end of SNAP benefits. Food pantries can’t keep up with demand and we need to step in at the state level and help fill the gaps rendered by the current administration.
Job creation: assisting in the development of a brand new Sound Stage being built on the South Side. By working in collaboration with my union and other labor leaders, I will focus on securing funding for this project which will invigorate economic development, create jobs, and revitalize the creative economy by moving film, tv, and streaming recording here instead of outsourcing production to other states and cities. I will use my subject matter expertise to focus on the intersection of the arts and economic development on a large scale.

People are tired of the “old guard” political machine. It no longer serves our highest good. People are also tired of the gamesmanship in political appointments. I’m running to ensure the democratic process is engaged and voters are the ones who choose their representative, not a committee of three people behind closed doors. My track record of speaking up boldly against corruption and fiscal malfeasance is well-established. People want to vote for strong Democrats—which my voting record proves I am. Unlike my opponent, whose voting record shows Republican ballots were consistently pulled all the way up until 2016. My community knows and trusts me, as I have kept all my campaign promises and have been a strong voice for responsible government all along.

I will listen. I will collaborate. I will be a voice for the people of the 47th District. It's the type of representation we all deserve!
I'm a Democrat because I want to live in a society where everyone is welcome no matter who they are or where they come from.
Accomplishments
My background as a community organizer and activist. It has given me the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and hear what they are struggling with the most.
My work in non-profit law, especially at the National Immigrant Justice Center's LGBTQ project. I helped clients who couldn't afford legal services apply for asylum so they could stay in America and not be sent back to countries where they would be persecuted because of who they love.
My advocacy for mental healthcare. While I was just one of many who worked on the campaign, I am proud to say that I helped gather signatures for the Milton Township 708 board.
Priorities When Elected
Healthcare: with the impending Medicaid cuts it's imperative that we invest in public healthcare at a state level to keep our hospitals open.
Progressive revenue sources: we've relied on regressive taxes, like sales tax and property tax, in Illinois for far too long. It's time that we make corporations and the wealthy pay their fair share to fully fund our state, and shift the burden away from middle class and working class households.
Speaking out against the Trump administration and passing laws that insulate our state from the worst of this administration's actions. I've been very disappointed that the current State Senator (Seth Lewis) has said nothing about Donald Trump's threats to send the national guard to Illinois. This is a direct threat against our state's sovereignty and every Illinois lawmaker must speak out against it. I will not stay quiet about what the madman in the White House is doing.
I believe we need to be creative at the state-level in passing laws that can protect us against the Trump administration. Perhaps we could look into passing a law where Illinois withholds tax revenue when the federal government refuses to disburse funds to our state that Congress has already earmarked for us.

I understand the things that people are struggling with everyday. Food prices are going up, healthcare is too expensive, students go into exorbitant amounts of debt to get an education, rent is too high. I've dealt with these problems all firsthand, and they are the exact issues I want to help fix in Springfield
